Flower Reproduction

Flower Reproduction
Flower reproduction is a system where plants make new seeds. This involves male and female parts of the flower . The system of flower reproduction is broken into 2 parts pollination and fertilisation. Pollination is the process whereby pollens move into the pistil. Pollens stick into the male reproductive cell, the stamen. The female reproductive cell is the pistil . The flower relies on the pollinators, insects like bees are called pollinators. Bees are attracted to the bright colors of the flower. Honey bees are attracted to the sweet juicy nectar that the flowers produce. As the honey bee moves from flower to flower, grains of pollen gets stuck to the pollinators. Or sometimes the grain of pollen stuck to the pollinator falls off and lands on the pistil , the female part of the flower. There are many pollinators like birds, humans, wind, butterflies and water. When the grain of pollen has landed on the female part the flower, the flower has been pollinated . The next step is fertilisation .

The pollen goes through a tube and meets up with the egg. The pollen combines with the egg which turns into a seed. This grows into an adult plant. Flower reproduction are done in 2 processes, pollination and fertilization.
